You may be a freethinker if…
  byGroff Schroeder

You support legalizing Sunday car and liquor sales.

Statistics regarding damage to society make you think that marijuana should be legalized and corruption in government should be criminalized.

You find life more exciting, important and vibrant when you abandon the idea of immortality.

You no longer worry about being struck dead.

You realize even supernatural beings cannot overcome certain aspects of reality; like 2+2 = 4.

You believe the earth moon system formed when a mars sized object hit a "proto-earth" about 4.533 billion years ago.

You lost your job at a bookstore for stocking ancient religious texts in the fiction section.

You thoroughly analyze "conspiracy theories" before deciding if they are true or false.

You believe violence is immoral, especially when waged in the name of a deity.

You read a book by Richard Dawkins.

You support freedom of religion - and freedom from religion.

You believe imaginary lines like national borders and political labels thwart human rational oneness.

After carefully considering earth's orbit, tilt, solar variations and other natural phenomenon, you reluctantly realize that exponentially growing populations of billions of humans burning fuels at ~40% efficiency and dumping gasses scientifically proven to trap heat into a shallow spherical shell probably cause dangerous atmospheric warming.

You never believed there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Your winter thermostat still reads 68 F.

You know who Richard Feynman is.

After a helicopter ride to a trauma center and weeks in intensive care you attribute the "miracle" of a loved one's survival to modern medical science rather than divine intervention.

Telling children things you know are false about traditions like "Santa Claus" and the "Tooth Fairy" bothers you deeply.

You think health care is a human right, not a profit center.

You'd choose the red pill.

You abandoned your belief that humans and dinosaurs never inhabited the earth simultaneously because you learned that birds are probably the descendents of dinosaurs.

You like the Separation of Church and State.

Even "just war" seems immoral.

You explored the Bhagvad Gita, the Bible, the Kojiki, the Qur'an, and the etc., etc., etc.

Voting in a place of worship, be it a temple, mosque or church, nauseates you.

You can correctly quote clauses one and two of the First Amendment to the US Constitution.

You studied critical thinking in public school.

You once had, and then lost faith in Ayyavazhi and Zoroastrianism - and several religions between.

Truth and freedom are more important than acceptance and safety.

You became profoundly uncomfortable after thoroughly reading the ancient religious text you thought you had been following for years.

Computer voting machines give you the creeps.

Your "prayer experiments" were scientific and carefully controlled.

Evolution seems more likely than design.

Your belief in a supreme being (if any) stems from the application of reason to observations of the universe.

You can quote the Bible with the experts - but no longer believe it.
