Free Thoughts - Free Kids : Back to school !

It's been a week since our kids went back to school here in the Springs. What with summer camps and visitors from out of state the summer seemed to go quickly for my family. We should be grateful here in Colorado to have such a good school system compared to many other states. Let's hope that common sense, reason and good education continue this school year for our children.

We will meet at Memorial Park in the picnic area by Prospect Lake. It is bordered by Union Blvd and E Las Animas Street. The parking area is close to the Aquatic and Fitness center. Memorial Park is very close to the Olympic Training Center, so if you have an urge to see where many United States athletes train, this would be a great opportunity. Bring a dish to share with other free thought families and Jim will supply dogs for the grill.

Drinking Skeptically

05/29/2008 - 18:30
05/29/2008 - 20:00

Although this is not an official Freethinkers of Colorado Springs event, I thought I would pass the information on to those who might be interested.

Swing on by and join Drinking Skeptically for some good Irish Pub food, drinks, and great conversations. This will be the first official Drinking Skeptically gathering in Colorado Springs. Drinking Skeptically was started in New York by Michael Feldman of the New York City Skeptics. Denver and Boulder have started up ones in their areas, so let's join them in putting Colorado clearly on the map for science and reason.
