John Patrick Michael Murphy, one of the founders of the Freethinkers of Colorado Springs, will be giving a talk about "The Early Days of the Freethinkers of Colorado Springs."
The hike this Saturday will be the Columbine Trail, which starts from the Starsmore Center and heads west towards Helen Hunt Falls in Cheyenne Canyon. The difficulty level of this hike is a little more difficult than Waldo Canyon Trail and is about 12 miles round trip. You do not have to do the entire hike and can decide individually or in small groups how far you want to go up the trail. The Starsmore Center, is located west of the intersection of Evans Ave., West Cheyenne Blvd., North Cheyenne Canyon Road and South Cheyenne Canyon Road (which leads to Seven Falls).
It's time to get together in a place where everyone can chat and meet each other without having to scream across a table at a bar. So, bring some food or a beverage and swing on over to my house. I'll provide sodas and a few appetizers. There will be great opportunities for interesting discussions as well as the ability to watch some related videos from YouTube on the TV. So swing on by and start your holiday season with a dose of reason.
Do not forget to sign up and include your email address. I will be sending directions on Wednesday, Dec. 3rd, to everyone who signs up through here. You can also sign-up at the Colorado Springs Skeptics Meetup at Meetup.com. You can email me at drinkskepticallycos@gmail.com for directions, too.
