The Colorado Springs City Council is considering a proposal to turn over management of the city's swimming pool system to the local YMCA. The Young Mens Christian Association. Anytime government functions and money are turned over to religious organizations there is a chance that non-religious people might be excluded from the final outcome. With care and thoughtfulness, the city could craft this deal so that no citizen would be deprived of their rights because the are not a member of that particular religion. But too often our officials fail to consider this need until its too late. | ||

Come and enjoy good food and great conversation with other Freethinkers! Bring a dish to share, bring your spouse and/or friend, and bring water, soft drinks, a bottle of beer or wine, or whatever you’d like to drink. Coffee and tea will be provided by the host(s). The socials begin at 6:00 PM and usually break up around 9:00 PM. Remember to mark your calendar; socials are on the second Saturday of the month. April’s social will be held on Saturday the 14th at 6:00 PM. Don’t forget to bring a dish to share and something you’d like to drink! | ||
