This observance is held in parallel with the National Day of Prayer, on the first Thursday in May each year. The goal of this effort is to celebrate reason—a concept all Americans can support—and to raise public awareness about the persistent threat to religious liberty posed by government intrusion into the private sphere of worship. The National Day of Reason website is co-sponsored by the American Humanist Association and the Washington Area Secular Humanists. | ||

KRCC — Radio Colorado College — are holding their Spring Fund Drive, and Sunday, May 4th, has been designated “Freethinkers’ Day.” The Freethinkers of Colorado Springs will be answering phones at KRCC studios, taking pledges for the Fund Drive (not talking on the air), and we’re asking for your help to fill as many shifts on that day as we can. This will be great publicity for the Freethinkers — our group will get lots of mentions on the air — so we want to fill as many shifts as we can with Freethinkers.
