Hi Hiking Freethinkers,

Weather permitting, there will be a hike on Sunday, October 17th on Horseshoe Mtn Trail / Catamount Trail. This trail starts out in Green Mountain Falls at about 8000 ft, climbs up rather steadily to an elevation of about 9400 ft, a bit above N. Catamount Reservoir, then goes down a little to the reservoir then return to Green Mountain Falls. The trail going up can be rather steep at times, especially before we get almost to the top. The trail down is somewhat steep in sections and can be somewhat technical in nature. Overall, I rate this hike between intermediate to difficult in sections, and is about 8 miles in length (very approximate).

Off site parking. Due to the limited parking and the distance to the trailhead, we will meet off site and carpool to the trailhead. Please meet me at the parking lot northwest of the intersection of Highway 24 and 21st Street before 9:00 AM Sunday morning. From Highway 24 and 21st Street, go north on 21st Street, take the first left turn onto Naegele Rd and then the first right turn into the parking lot. We will be leaving the parking lot PROMPTLY at 9:00 AM.

Please bring enough water and snacks for the hike.
