SkeptiCamps are open, participatory events that focus on distributing knowledge within communities of skeptics. We encourage each attendee offer a short talk on a topic related to science or skepticism, but giving a talk is not required to participate. At the very least we ask that everyone be actively engaged, asking questions during the talks.

Skepticamp started in Colorado and has succeeded largely due to the herculean efforts of Reed Esau. Reed's innovation was that people with a skeptical or scientific outlook would get together and, as a community, share what they know about subjects of mutual interest. The innovation of open events in skepticism started at the Tivoli in Denver with the first experimental SkeptiCamp in 2007. This will be our our seventh event in the Metro Area, we build on past events in Denver, Castle Rock and Boulder. There have also been Skepticamps in Colorado Springs and Fort Collins!
