Hi Hiking Freethinkers,

There will be a hike on Sunday, April 3rd at Stratton Open Space. There are several trails from which to choose. They are all relatively easy trails. The parking lot is west of Cresta Road, 0.2 miles north of La Veta Way. There is a sign at the intersection saying Presidential Hts to the east and Cheyenne Mtn H.S. to the west. Take the road going west into Cheyenne Mtn High School. Go past the Facility parking only sign. In the north west corner of the parking lot is a rock with the words "Cheyenne Mtn Nature Trail" carved into it. I will be parking close to that rock. If you are coming from the north and west, take 21st street off Highway 24. 21st street turns into Cresta before the High School. If you are coming from any other direction, the easiest way to get there is from Cheyenne Blvd.. This parking lot is not a parking lot usually used by hikers. I decided to use it because the other parking lots are fairly small and there may not be enough room for everyone to park. The hike will start promptly at 10:00 AM.

Please bring enough water and snacks for the hike.

Due to the number of people on the hike, please let me know if you plan on attending the hike. If you change your mind, please let me know that also.

p.s. Sometime in the future I may schedule a different hike which includes Stratton Open Space, Gold Camp Road and the Columbine Trail. That would be a far more difficult hike for another day.
