There will be a hike on Sunday, May 15th on the Front Range Trail to maybe see the Blue Herons. This trail is also know as the Santa Fe Trail. We would be meeting at the park-n-ride between Tejon Avenue and Nevada Avenue under Interstate 25. The hike will start at 9:00 AM and we will be heading south towards Fountain. This is an extremely easy hike. It is possible that the Blue Herons are close by the trail and/or flying around along Fountain Creek. Georgianne and I hiked by this area a few weeks ago and we saw one Blue Heron flying over head. About 2/3 of the trees that the Blue Herons had nests in were cut down over the winter. Therefore, I do not know if most of them have moved away or have built nests in nearby trees.

Georgianne and I are going to busy in the afternoon, so this hike must be a morning only hike. Georgianne and I need to be back home by noon.
