HumanLight creative design event

The Free Thought Free Kids group got together this last Sunday in downtown Colorado Springs to have the kids create their own designs for a HumanLight holiday card or ornament. Unfortunately I couldn't be there with my family - I had to travel for work at short notice.

Heard we had a great turnout and also we had a special guest appearance. Stefanie, the founder of the kids group moved away from the Springs back in July but was visiting for the weekend. It was great that she could turn up and rekindle some friendships here.

What will happen next is that the designs created by the kids will be photographed or scanned and then sent off to the HumanLight national design contest co-ordinator in Philadelphia. We thought we would hold our own local competition here in the SPrings as well, just to make the most of the work the kids have done.

I did a bit of research last week to find out what kinds of designs people are already putting on cards. Have to say I thought it would be easy to find and that perhaps even Hallmark already would have a long line of appropriate cards which proved to be not the case. Looking forward to see how this competition actually turns out!

Next Sunday we're off to Denver Science Museum to see the new dinosaur exhibit. This is something i've really been looking forward to as soon as I heard about it  - can't wait!
