The Freethinkers of Colorado Springs are hosting the area’s secular groups for a shared picnic and get-together. It will take place on Saturday, August 8th, from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm at Pavilion “C” in Memorial Park. We hope you’ll join us!

Bring something you would like to drink, a dish to share, etc., and a smile! NOTE: THERE ARE NO GRILLS PRESENT IN MEMORIAL PARK, if you want to grill onsite you will need to bring a portable grill.

The various secular groups have been evolving and it’s time to get to know one another. Prospect Lake is nearby and there’s playground equipment for the little folks, but if you have lawn games or anything else fun, please bring them along, too.

The pavilions at Memorial Park are near the intersection of Pikes Peak Avenue and Hancock Avenue. From Pikes Peak Avenue, turn south on Hancock and follow it to the first stoplight, at Costilla Street — there’s a 7-Eleven on the left at that intersection. Turn left at the light and you’ll be heading east on Costilla. Almost immediately, you’ll see a parking lot on the left, and the pavilions are just behind that lot. Pavilion “C” is the third one and is just past the playground equipment.

This event is open to members of all area secular groups — freethinkers, atheists, skeptics, etc — and we sure hope you’ll join us for what should be a fun event. See you at Memorial Park on August 8th!
