Annual Colorado Springs Secular Community Picnic

After event note: We had a great turn out of about 50 people and we had a lot of fun.  Groups represented included the Atheist Community of Colorado Springs, Denver Atheists, Denver Secular Hub, Freethinkers of Colorado Springs, and Pikes Peak Atheists.  Special thanks to Pikes Peak Atheists.

Please join the Freethinkers of Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak Atheists for our third annual Colorado Springs Secular Community Picnic! 

Get together with other atheists, Freethinkers, Humanists, nones, Non-believers, Unitarians, and any and everone else interesting in equality, logic, reason, science, and the defense of the separation of church and state.  This is a family friendly event, and an opportunity to meet other secular individuals and families.  

Leaders and members of all secular groups in the Pikes Peak region are thoroughly welcomed and specifically invited to attend, as are any and everyone else.  

Bring a dish to share, lawn games to play, camp chairs, and plenty of sunscreen. We have secured a pavilion in Black Forest Regional Park, so come join us for all or part of the picnic on Saturday, August 6th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

DIRECTIONS: From the Springs, take Powers Blvd north until it dead-ends into Interquest and turn right. (Or take I-25 to Interquest and proceed past Powers on Interquest). Take your first right onto Shoup Rd. In less than 2 miles, you will see the huge sign for Black Forest Regional Park on the NE corner of Shoup and Milam Rd. Turn left on Milam. Do Not go into the pull out parking area- instead proceed past it to the road entrance and enter the park that way. There is parking on both sides of the huge field, and we will be at the pavilion on the far side (not the one next to the playground).

Please keep in mind, because of the anticipated size of the event, we ask that pets be left at home for the day.
