BRINGING JUSTICE AND PEACE TO THE MIDDLE EAST

Through the philosophical lens of “thinking freely,” critical thinking, logic and reason, the presentation communicates the Durland's “experiences and reflections on the ground in Israel, Palestine and Iraq” in the context of “current news events, international law and possible peace solutions.” The presentation will be followed by an extended group discussion.

 

Bill Durland is a 1953 Political Science and History graduate of Bucknell University, holds a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law School, a M.A. In Biblical Theology and Peace Studies from Notre Dame and a Ph.D. In political and religious philosophy from the Union Graduate School. Doctor Durland is a civil rights attorney Professor of Philosophy, History and Government and recent chair of the Colorado Springs American Civil Liberties Union.

 

Genie Durland holds a Philosophy degree from Hood college and a M.A. In Peace Studies. She is the former editor of the Center Peace Journal and secretary of the Pikes Peak Peace and Justice Commission.
