Thinking Free: The Conceptual Gap Between Theism and Atheism and the Role the Freethinkers of Colorado Springs Plays Within It

Louis E. Guzman Ph.D.

Freethinkers of Colorado Springs Membership Meeting

315 East Costilla

Colorado Springs, Colorado

7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Lou Guzman was the second son of an immigrant Mexican couple, who immigrated into the U.S almost 100 years ago. During his 20s he joined the US Navy and went to war. After that he was re-educated at UCLA and the University of Chicago. Most of his working life after university studies were spent with the US government, which during the Cold War years took him to Latin America to spread democracy. He retired from government in 1980, after which he wandered aimlessly. Then in CE 2000 his wife (a Lutheran) fortunately followed his daughter to Colorado Springs, where she and her family had settled. Then he found the Freethinkers of Colorado Springs, a group that helped him orient his personal philosophy into that fuzzy land between theism and atheism.

Note: Louis E. Guzman Ph.D. was the first president of the Freethinkers of Colorado Springs.
