Tuesday - Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

NOTE: As perhaps the oldest non-believer organization in the Pikes Peak region, the Freethinkers of Colorado Springs are very proud of the many sister organizations that have sprung up in our community. Many of these assemblies of local non-believers focus upon public service work, and one of the most active is the Pikes Peak Atheist and Pikes Peak Atheist Families group.

The Freethinkers of Colorado Springs strive to assist our sister organizations and non-believer events in many ways including the granting of funds to defray costs and the provision of credit card donation acceptance services (at no charge whatsoever) to our sister organizations to facilitate a wide variety of non-believer sponsored activities and events such as the hosting of major speakers (contact freethinkersCS@freethinkersCS.com).  In addition, when time and energy allow, we cross post events such as the Pikes Peak Atheists and Pikes Peak Atheist Families' Charity Drive event announcement appearing below.

The event announcement requests that those who make donations contact the Pikes Peak Atheists and Pikes Peak Atheist Families with information about their donation. If you choose to make a donation, please send an email to freethinkersCS@freethinkersCS.com, and we will forward the details of your donation to the Pikes Peak Atheists and Pikes Peak Atheist Families event organizer for their records.

Thank you, every one of our sister organizations, and the Pikes Peak Atheists and Pikes Peak Atheist Families for all you do.

Cross posted from the the Pikes Peak Atheists and Pikes Peak Atheist Families Meetup:

Just in time for spring cleaning, we are doing a charity drive for a wonderful secular organization. One Nation Walking Together strives to make a positive impact in the lives of Native Americans. They deliver the basic necessities of life while uplifting the lives of the most impoverished people in our country.

Donate to help fill a 53-foot semi-truck to deliver needed items to a reservation in the Colorado region! All donations to ONWT are tax-deductible. We will be collecting items through April 29th.

WHAT TO DONATE:

Time to clean out the closets! ONWT needs donations of almost all basic necessities, including the following with no holes, stains or rips, and in good working condition:

-Non-perishable food

-Toiletries

-Clothing (infants to adults, they need it all, however please no references to alcohol on t-shirts)

-Furniture- large & small, including mattresses

-Appliances- yes, including large ones

-Kitchen items such as dishes, pots & pans, etc…

-Linens such as towels, sheets, blankets, pillows

-Children's items such as books & toys

-Special needs items like wheelchairs, walkers, etc… please call and ask if you are not sure; they can probably use it! 719-329-0251

Cash- Donating money is better than buying items to donate. If you are able to make a monetary donation (every dollar helps!), they can apply it to very good use by purchasing gas and maintenance for a truck or by applying it last minute to the specific request list for the reservation that they will be delivering to. Your donation will be put to very good use- 95 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to the cause!

HOW TO DONATE:

-For large furniture items and appliances, call them to arrange pick up! Please be sure to TAKE PICTURES and MESSAGE them to me with a list of what you donated so we can keep track of our success with this drive.

-Drop off your donations at their location. Please be sure to TAKE PICTURES and MESSAGE them to me with a list of what you donated so we can keep track of our success with this drive. They are available Tuesday- Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 3150 North Nevada Ave. in Colorado Springs.

-Bring small amounts of donations (including non-perishable food!) to any PPA event from now until our on-site volunteer day April 29th (a separate event will be posted for the on-site volunteer day). This is a great option if you just have a couple of bags or boxes.

-Online or by check for monetary donations: https://www.onenationwt.org/get-involved/donate/

3150 North Nevada Ave. Colorado Springs, CO 80907. Please be sure to MESSAGE me to let me know about your donation so I can include it in our totals for the event.

Thank you for helping with the Pikes Peak Atheists drive for One Nation Walking Together!
