Movie Night September 2018
Freethinkers of Colorado Springs Movie Night
Waiting for Superman
September 18
6:30 pm - 8:50
in the Aspen and Pine Rooms
at Penrose Public Library
On Tuesday, September 18th, at 6:30 pm, we will see the groundbreaking feature film that provides an engaging and inspiring look at public education in the USA. WAITING FOR “SUPERMAN” has helped launch a movement to achieve a real and lasting change through the compelling stories of five unforgettable students such as Emily, a Silicon Valley eighth-grader who is afraid of being labeled as unfit for college, and Francisco, a Bronx first-grader whose mom will do anything to give him a shot at a better life. WAITING FOR “SUPERMAN” seeks to show how bad public education is in the USA, suggest some of the reasons, and suggest a solution. It should be mandatory viewing for all Americans; it’s sure to leave a powerful and lasting impression.
We have reserved the combined Aspen and Pine Rooms in Penrose Library for this event. As you enter the building from Cascade Avenue, go straight ahead to the information desk and turn right. Follow the wall to your right, past the elevator, and look for the big blue "Freethinkers" sign.
Hope you can make it on Tuesday, September 18th, at 6:30 pm at Penrose Public Library for WAITING FOR “SUPERMAN.”
