White Dog

Tuesday, July 16th, 6:30 pm

in the Aspen & Pine Rooms

at Penrose Public Library

You are cordially invited to join the Freethinkers of Colorado Springs for Movie Night at Penrose Public Library, 20 North Cascade Avenue in Colorado Springs. On Tuesday, July 16th, at 6:30 pm, we will view a 1982 film directed by Samuel Fuller, White Dog. This throat-grabbing statement on American racism was misunderstood and withheld from release when it was made in the early 1980s. Today it’s lauded for its daring metaphor and gripping film making.

Kristy McNichol stars as a young actress who adopts a lost German shepherd, only to discover through a series of horrifying incidents that the dog has been trained to attack black people, and Paul Winfield plays the animal trainer who tries to cure him. A snarling and uncompromising vision of human corruption, White Dog has lost none of its power to shock the senses or the conscience.

We have reserved the combined Aspen and Pine Rooms in Penrose Library for this event. As you enter the building from Cascade Avenue, go straight ahead to the informaon desk and turn right. Follow the wall to your right, past the elevator, and look for the big blue Freethinkers sign.

Hope to see you on Tuesday, July 16th, at Penrose Public Library for White Dog.

Admission is FREE!

Everybody welcome.
