Update:. This turned out to a fun and very funny session. I think Barry invited us to protect us from you fellow congregation members. They were PISSED.. I'm going to try to get him to do it for the Freethinkers..

I got the great notice from Barry Fagin, a local activist. I think it could be worth your time..

This talk will present the sum total of the archaeological and historical evidence for the reality of the Exodus story as described in the Torah. That will take about ten seconds. The rest of the time we will discuss arguments from faith, the nature of intellectual inte...grity, how oral cultures give rise to origin stories, and the implications for Judaism if the Exodus is “only” a myth.

The speaker will argue that the right thing for Jews to believe, when it comes to questions of fact, history, and science, is what the evidence says, because that is what people of integrity do. If Jews lose their commitment to the pursuit of truth and knowledge for its own sake, wherever it may lead, what is left of Judaism will not be worth preserving. We’ll be just like Christians, differing only in which myth we believe.

I suspect his will draw more the secular jewish population and few of the "book thumping" verity. It could be a fun morning. Or a bummer. Praise me if i'st good and blame a someone else if it bombs.
