Dan Barker (Freedom From Religion Foundation) In Denver!

09/24/2010 - 18:00
09/24/2010 - 21:00

Metro State Atheists is hosting a talk by Dan Barker, secular activist, musician, author, and Co-President of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, or FFRF.   The event is Friday, September 24, at 6pm.

Dan Barker is one of the best-known secular activists in the country, and his most recent book is titled "Godless: How an Evangelical Preacher Became One of America's Leading Atheists."

The FFRF fights for separation of church and state, not just in the "marketplace of ideas" as we all do, but also in courts of law. The organization uses membership dues and donations to pay lawyers to fight to protect some of our most cherished of American rights... as well as to put out an excellent newsletter (more of a small newspaper, really) each month. See more about them here: http://www.ffrf.org/...

The presentation will be on the Auraria Campus, 900 Auraria Parkway. Denver, CO 80204 in The Tivoli Student Union, room 320, the Baerrensen Ballroom, and is FREE and open to the public.

Being as this is going to be a big and crowded event, it would be wise to arrive early, and we won't all be sitting together as a group. But so what? It's Dan Barker!!! And no doubt some of us will be milling around afterward, and those who know each other might cluster together.
