The monthly meeting of the Freethinkers of Colorado Springs takes place on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm. July’s meeting will be on the 25th and is entitled “Is Religion Bad For The Planet? Religion, Environment, and the Cost to Human Freedom.” Marc Praterelli, author and professor of psychology at CSU-Pueblo, will meet with the Freethinkers to discuss his research and projects on the implications of religion and Earth’s environment. Stand-up comedian, television personality, political commentator, author, and actor Bill Maher will appear for one night only in Colorado Springs, Saturday, July 28th, at 8:00 pm, at the Pikes Peak Center. Mr Maher is known for his political satire and sociopolitical commentary. He supports the legalization of marijuana and same-sex marriage, and he serves on the board of PETA. Come and enjoy good food and great conversation with other Freethinkers! Bring a dish to share, bring your spouse and/or friend, and bring water, soft drinks, a bottle of beer or wine, or whatever you’d like to drink. Coffee and tea will be provided by the host(s). The socials begin at 6:00 PM and usually break up around 9:00 PM. Remember to mark your calendar; socials are on the second Saturday of the month.
