UCCS's Secular Student group will be hosting JT Eberhard on Tuesday, Nov. 12. JT gained fame in the Freethought movement by starting a very successful "Skepticon" event in conservative Springfield MO. He helped the gathering grow to a full two day weekend with several hundred attendees, and is credited with kicking off the wave of secular events that is re-making the religious map of the American mid-west. He worked for a while in the Secular Student Alliance office, and now blogs on http://www.patheos.com/blogs/wwjtd/ . He is a funny, powerful and irreverent speaker. Don't miss him. 7pm.

The coffee and breakfast is optional, but very good. The conversation is free flowing and undirected. Last month we had 8 folks at one table and 4 at another. One new person, a lawyer who told of being condemned to hell by a passionate christian client who didn't like his legal advise. We heard some great stories about working with autistic kids from a UCCS student. He also advised us about a "great new christian" movie "God is not dead" he saw hyped on facebook. There was discuss about junk science and the GMO and anti-vaccine movement. Mikey Wienstien and his battles with military.

Start: 2:00 pm
End: 3:30 pm
